A Fly Fishing Class for Beginners

Fly Fishing Foundations

New to fly fishing?  Getting off to a great start begins with instruction.  It is important for your development that you learn how to do things properly from the start.  New anglers should take a beginning fly fishing class.  The Fly Fishing Fundamentals is a step above most beginning classes.  This class will teach you the necessary skills, how to develop them, but also why you do things in certain ways.

Benefits anglers will gain from the Fly Fishing Foundations Class…

  • Proper grip on the rod

  • Proper cast mechanics

  • line management skills

  • Controlling drag and why it is important

  • Hooking angles and playing trout

  • Tackle and equipment

  • Regulations

Not only will you learn how to fly fish, but fly fishing drills you can use at home to improve your skills.   Students have two options: a classroom setting or private instruction.   The class setting will be held in a group setting on land learning the skills.  The private instruction will include the same classroom instruction with actual fishing after a lunch break.  The fly fishing class will be conducted in North Carolina near Asheville.
