Bass Float Trips

Late Spring, summertime and fall is smallmouth bass season.   Warmer water gets them moving aggressively.  Bass will aggressively hit streamers below the surface, but low water and summer hatches can lead to some great top water action.  Anglers can use fly tackle or light spin tackle on smallmouth.   For anglers new to fly fishing for bass, I provide 7wt rods and tackle, or for experienced anglers, you can use your own rods.

Tuckasegee River, NC

Many associate the Tuckasegee River with trout fishing.  It is most noted for the delayed harvest section near Dillsboro, NC, as a top trout fishery.  However, most are unaware that the sections downstream of the delayed harvest section are a quality bass fishery.

Many associate North Carolina with trout fishing.  However, most people don't realize the French Broad River is a quality bass fishery.  The French Broad River has excellent habitat for smallmouth bass.  It is conveniently located near Asheville, NC.
