Hatches and Fly Selection
A fly fishing class all about hatches and flies for trout
Hatches and Fly Selection for Trout
The most commonly asked question in fly fishing is, “What fly are the trout taking?” This daunting question has many variables. This half-day class is designed to create a system for decoding what the trout are eating. This fly fishing class simplifies aquatic entomology into a more usable concept of Angler Entomology. A year is broken into manageable seasons, with each season having a menu of key hatches the trout are most likely to feed on. The class will present which fly patterns imitate key hatches, and how to select fly patterns to match the water type and feeding zone in the water column. The class also covers how to incorporate the hatches, trout's behavior, and the stream ecosystem into the fly selection process. Hatches and Fly Selection for Trout is a comprehensive and integrated class that incorporates a multifaceted approach to fly selection. It will improve your fly angling for trout.
Benefits include

Identifying groups of insect behaviors to improve presentation
Learning a system of fly selection to reduce the guesswork in selecting a fly
